VerticalChange has the ability to assign more than one Contact Subtype (CST) when creating a new contact.

Setting up CST Dependencies is limited to users with access to editing form templates.

If you are interested in using CST Dependencies, please contact a member of our support team at support@verticalchange to learn more.

To set up CST Dependencies, you will want to access the Form Template for the CST that will have other CST Dependencies (example: You have an Adult CST and a Staff CST and you want the Staff CST to be automatically attached anytime a user creates an Adult CST, you will want to access the Adult CST form template).

  1. Go to the CST Form Template that you would like to setup the dependencies.

  2. In the "Add dependent CST" dropdown, select the CSTs that should also be auto added when creating that CST.

  3. You are able to add multiple dependent CSTs by simply clicking the dropdown again and adding the additional CSTs.

  4. Save the form

Note: The dependency only applies to the CST that it was setup on. In the example above, Staff would be added when creating an Adult CST but Adult would not be added when creating a Staff CST. You would need to set up the dependencies on the Staff CST form for any dependencies for that CST.

Once CST Dependencies are setup, the main CST and all dependent CSTs will populate when creating a new contact.

In the example above, when a user creates a new "Adult" contact, they will first see any "Common Fields' that are set up, followed by the "Adult" CST data section and then will have the "Staff" data details section below to enter.
