In the Report Builder, there is a Summary tab that will give you summary counts on various measures pulled into the data grid.  You can find it by clicking on "Summary" at the top of the grid.

Once inside the Summary tab, you will see 4 columns.

  • Basic Fields - The form that the data comes from

  • Field - The field that was queried

  • Occurrences (not empty) - The number of times that this result appears in the report

  • Sum - The sum of any numeric response found in that particular field

If a question a multi-select, you will not see the number of occurrences for each selection unless you break out the question into different columns.  Find out how to do that here.

Summarize Likert Scores

For Likert fields,  you can assign scores for each response through the Form Builder, and choose to show those values inside the report builder.  When you elect to show those fields in the Report Builder you will see 2 fields for each question.  One is the question itself, and the second is the value you assigned to the response found in the field.  In the example below you can see the same question listed 2x.  The second time it has a score attached.  That score has been summarized in the "sum" column.

* NOTE: if you want to get averages or do other types of math on your data, you will need to export to Excel
