Tab Grouping
As the available functionality in VerticalChange has grown, so have the number of possible tabs visible on a Contact in the top bar:
As a consequence of this increased offering, many users have found navigation between tabs in the Contact has become unwieldy, requiring them to scroll offscreen, or sometimes not realizing that there are additional tabs out of frame.
In order to address this problem, we're introducing Tab Grouping. This functionality will automatically group your available tabs once you have access to more than 7 tabs on the Contact. The possible grouping tabs are labeled Form Results, More, and Reports:
Here are some explanations of the grouping tabs:
Form Results: This will contain your form entry options that are based off Form Templates including Activities, Assessments, Registrations, Sessions, etc.
Reports: This is where you will find any Standard Reports or Contact-level Visual Dashboards.
More: This contains integration tabs such as FindHelp or Outside Forms, as well as any Admin Tools you may have access to.
Setting a Default Tab
We recognize that for some users this may move their most heavily-used tab under a menu. In order to address that change we have also introduced the ability to set a default tab. You can find this in the menu at the end of the row of tabs:
Setting a default tab here will set that as the tab you are dropped onto when you navigate to a Contact. In the below screenshot I have set Activities as my default tab, meaning that the Form Results group is automatically expanded and I automatically land on the Activities tab:
Reordering Tabs in a Group
Users also have the ability to reorder the tabs under the grouping menus to match their preferences:
This can be set under the same menu as the Default tab
This is the first round of an iterative process in which we will be improving navigation on the Contact tab. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Help Chat if you have any feedback on these changes or suggestions that might make navigation easier for you or your agency users.
