Accessing VerticalChange

  1. Go to VerticalChange by visiting this website:

  2. Click LOG IN in the top right.

  3. Enter your email and password.

    If you forget your password, email your administrator and they can reset your password for you.

  4. After successfully signing in, you will land on the VerticalChange Dashboard.


Navigating VerticalChange

Top Bar

The top bar contains the following:

  • Create Button

  • Jump to Contact

  • User Settings

Create Button

The create button can be used to:


Jump to Contact

You can quickly find a contact using their name or unique ID through the Jump to Contact Bar to be taken to their dashboard.

Profile Settings

Your Profile Settings is where you can manage your settings.

Here's what you can do:

  • Change your name

  • Add a photo

  • Edit your password

  • Change your time zone

  • Edit your notification settings

  • Send an email when a task is overdue

  • Send a daily digest of tasks due that day

  • Notification of bulletin board responses


Email Us - You can email us at our general support email support@verticalchange.com or email your Customer Success manager directly

Chat Us! - Click on the message icon on the lower right of your screen. We are here 8-5 PST Monday through Friday.

Left-Hand Side Bar


Home

This is the Agency Wide dashboard where you can see recent events and send messages to the whole agency.

Account

In this tab admin users can update agency's profile, export notes, manage permissions, change agency account settings, and create Hotkeys

Contacts

This tab shows a grid of all agency Contacts including People and Groups. Grid can be sorted, filtered, and exported at any time.

Goals

This tab is used to track your own or other users' deadlines associated with goals through the Goals, where you can filter the data you're looking for in many different ways.

Documents

You can upload documents to the agency here and anyone in the agency with documents permission can view and download them.

Forms

Imports

Through this tab, an admin user can import data into the Vertical Change system. See here how to prepare your data, upload the import file, create the import configuration, and run your import.

Programs

This tab has a list of all programs, and a user can create new ones, edit or delete existing ones, fill out program-wide forms, and create or edit goals.

Reports

Here is where you can create new reports through the Report Builder, view and edit saved reports, export report data, and run Standard Reports.

Staff

In this tab, admin users can create and edit users, send password reset emails, create and set permissions, and edit user’s Program and Form access.

Tasks

In this tab, users can view, re-assign, and complete Tasks assigned to them.

Contact Profile

Dashboard:  In this tab you can write notes and see what actions have been taken on that contact by looking at the recent events section. For a group contact, this page will show you what basic contacts are a part of the group.

Details: In this tab is the contact’s basic information that you entered when you created the contact. You may edit this information at any time. 

Groups:  This tab will show you what groups the contact belongs to.

Notes:  Reminders, updates, notes. Data which isn’t needed in reports can be written in this tab.

Documents:  You can upload documents pertaining to the group or a basic contact here and see documents that have been uploaded through this tab or through a form. 

Programs: The program tab will show you the current program the group or basic contact member is enrolled in. This tab will also allow you to enroll the group or individual contact into another program or change dates of enrollment, if needed.

Activities (Service Oriented): Activities will vary based on Program(s) in which client is enrolled. Drop down feature displays “activities” associated with that program. You can complete any activity form from here.

Assessments (Outcome Oriented): Assessments will vary based on Program(s) in which client is enrolled. Drop down feature displays “assessments” associated with that program.  You can complete any assessment form from here.


Workflow Overview

VerticalChange's data collection workflow begins with creating basic contacts or group contacts, filing out the contact's information, enrolling them into programs

Basic Contact Example

An individual, student, parent, teacher, client, doctor
Sometimes referred to as "individual contact" in some help articles.

Group Contact Example

Family, classroom, school, hospital

Sometimes referred to as "families" in some help text

Program Example

Childcare Program, Volunteer Event, Counseling Program, School Program

Create a Contact 

Create a new basic contact or a group contact - if you want to create a group you must create basic contacts first.

Add Basic Contacts to Groups and Enroll into Programs

  • Once you have created the basic contact and the group, you can begin to add the basic contact to the group

  • Once all basic contacts are in a group, you can enroll the group in programs - When you enroll a group into a program from the Group Contact Dashboard, it will auto-enroll all contacts into that program.
